#Showbiz: Badul accepts son's death as a test from God

KUALA LUMPUR: Comedian and veteran actor AR Badul, 70, has accepted the untimely death of his son Major Mohd Zahir Armaya today as fate.

"I accept this as fate and a test from God," he said in a news report.

His 36-year-old son received a fatal shot while playing the role of a villain during a training demonstration at 8.30am at the Lok Kawi Camp in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

The demonstration was part of the itinerary in conjunction with the launch of the Fifth Division of the Malaysian Infantry and the 13th Malaysian Infantry Brigade.

Abdul, whose real name is Armaya Aman Ramlie added that he found out about the tragic event at around 11am.

"What happened was that he got shot during a training event this morning. The bullet proof vest that he wore was unfortunately not able to stop the shot and it has all been very saddening to me," he said.

Badul explained that he understood the life-threatening risks that comes with the job of being a commando but he felt really disheartened that Zahir's death came while he was just undergoing a training exercise.

The veteran personality has fathered six children with Zahir being the eldest of two siblings from his marriage to his third wife who hails from Sabah.

Zahir leaves behind a widow and one child, as well as two other children from a previous marriage.
