#Showbiz: Harith Iskander rapped for BMF campaign comment

KUALA LUMPUR: Some Netizens find comedian and actor Harith Iskander Musa a little hasty when giving his two cents on the Buy Muslim First campaign.

The 53-year-old artiste recently tweeted: “Why stop at 'Buy Muslim Products Only'. How about 'Support Muslim Athletes Only' Stop watching badminton, EPL, NBA, MMA, UFC, WCG — in fact just stop watching ALL sports.”

In a news report today, many Netizens felt that Harith was not clear what the campaign was actually all about, for him to even suggest, albeit sarcastically, to include watching sports on TV into the campaign too.

“What’s the connection of shopping for groceries and watching sports on TV? Ohh, is this supposed to be a stupid joke? Let’s just laugh then,” commented one person.

Another wrote: “This campaign is about helping to boost the economic status of Muslim manufacturers, but not watching sports on TV doesn’t even help anyone.”

Meanwhile, the news report also quoted that the comedian refused comment on the issue, citing that he didn’t want people to misunderstand further what he was trying to say.
