KUALA LUMPUR: Trilingual Masya Masyitah is indeed a rising star amongst Malaysian singers, having done the country proud winning a music award in China recently.

The 19-year-old artiste was awarded Most Potential Young Artiste title at the recent Asia Music Awards held in Shenzhen, southern China.

With hopes to "spread her wings" in the Asian superpower's vast music market soon, she said: “Thank God I've done it. I want to dedicate my win to my beloved parents and family who have always supported me musically.”

“I'm busy right now recording a single in Mandarin, and soon I'll release a duet with my dear friend Jeryl Lee,” she said in a news report today.

The duet recorded by Masya and Lee, also 19, is titled Zuo Jian (True Friends) and will be released early next year.

The two will also team up for a concert at the Arena Of Stars in Genting Highlands on Dec 31.

“I'll also have a new Malay single out early next year,” said the former student at Sekolah Menengah Jenis Kebangsaan Chio Min in Kulim, Kedah.

Masya who won the reality talent show for teenage singers Ceria Popstar in 2014, also took second spot in the Hong Kong International Music Festival 2016.
