#Showbiz: Katy Kung celebrates 30th b'day with F&B outlet in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Kong actress Katy Kung recently took a big step in her life on her 30th birthday.

Jayne Stars reported yesterday that she recently opened her very own Hong Kong hot pot restaurant in the heart of the Malaysian capital.

Sharing details of her new restaurant on Instagram, she posted a photo of herself in a waitress outfit with the caption: “From the restaurant’s decoration, recipes, working in the kitchen, studying soup bases, meatballs, dumplings, buying kitchen tools, and so on everything is not easy, but it gives me room to grow.

“Thankfully, right now I have the opportunity to learn, experiment, and broaden my life experience. Everything in front of my eyes is unexpected. In future, many things might appear to be impossible, but I believe that with a firm heart, I can do a good job!”

Kung, who co-owns the restaurant with a close friend, added: “There were no authentic Hong Kong hot pot restaurants in the region. My friend decided to open one in Kuala Lumpur. Our main focus is making home style soup bases. I created the handmade dumplings and experienced chefs whom we know will teach the restaurant crew how to make them.”

The restaurant, Like You, is decorated in retro Hong Kong style. Kung explained: “When people talk about where they want to eat and they suggest Like You, it gives a good feeling.

“I wanted to make a breakthrough at the age of 30. With regards to acting, it is still my main priority.”
