#Showbiz: Aizat Amdan wants to sing at weddings for free

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular singer-songwriter Aizat Amdan does not only sing in showcases, concerts and entertainment programmes on TV.

The 30-year-old award-winner best known for his hits Hanya Kau Yang Mampu, Sungai Lui, Pergi and Years From Now is up for performing at weddings for free.

However, he will only be doing so for a limited time — from now until April — and it is part of an on-going promotion for his latest single Waktu, launched on Jan 22.

In an Instagram video yesterday, Aizat said: "Assalamualaikum. If you need a singer for the weddings of your children, siblings or relatives, please fill in your details in my highlights.

"I'll be ready to sing for you in as many weddings as I can, and it's not just around Kuala Lumpur.

"My team and I sing for weddings of all Malaysians, not just Malays. But this will only be for a limited time, say until April and before Ramadan."

Netizens welcomed Aizat's latest promotion, and described it as a superb move on his part.

"Fantastic Aizat! I'm sure lots of couples out there are waiting for you," said Leez.

"Bestnya. Syabas Aizat!" said Shida.

"Well done Aizat. Brilliant move. You're the best!" said Rashidah.

Aizat has been singing since he was 12, performing at school concerts. He participated in Akademi Fantasia 5 in 2007, finishing eighth.

He has released three albums, Percubaan Pertama (2008), Urusan Aizat Amdan (2010) and Legasi (2014).

Aizat won Best Vocals In A Song (Male) in Anugerah Industri Muzik 2009, Best Song for Pergi in Anugerah Juara Lagu 2009, and Best Music Video for Susun Silang Kata in Anugerah Industri Muzik 2010.

He was the opening act for Grammy-winning American singer-songwriter Jason Mraz who performed at Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil in May last year.
