#Showbiz: 2PM's Nichkhun set to star in Hollywood rom-com

KUALA LUMPUR: Nichkhun of popular K-Pop group 2PM has been cast in a lead role in an upcoming Hollywood romantic comedy titled Hong Kong Love Story.

According to Soompi, the film is based on the real-life experiences of Hong Kong-American actor Byron Mann, who will also be starring in it.

The 32-year-old idol and Mann will be playing the sons of wealthy families who travel to Hong Kong and experience a variety of incidents that teach them the meaning of love and friendship.

Another lead character that tests the friendship of the two will be portrayed by Polish actress Dominika Kachlik.

Nichkhun, a Thai-American, has starred in Brother Of The Year, the second highest-grossing film in Thailand in 2018 and the horror flick Cracked, while Mann has appeared in films like The Big Short and TV series such as Altered Carbon.

Also starring in the upcoming film is veteran Hong Kong actor Kenneth Tsang, whose Hollywood credits include Memoirs Of A Geisha and Die Another Day.

Hong Kong Love Story is expected to begin production next month with Keoni Waxman serving as director.

Aaron Shershaw, who previously worked as production manager for Pacific Rim: Uprising is the executive producer.
