KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's No.1 singer Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin is enraged by irresponsible parties who are using her name and image online for dubious purposes.
"Who is it now that's using my name and picture to create accounts to scam others?" she said in a news report yesterday.
Siti, 42, is concerned that this despicable action could soil her reputation, create public confusion and fabricate lies about her.
"I confirm that this is not my account and whoever it is who has created this to cheat and deceive people, I hope it will stop at once. Let's all report this account together.
"Don't take advantage of other people by using my name and picture. This not only brings fitnah to me but sullies my reputation as well.
"This account is trying to scam the public by offering cash with instructions and conditions on how to go about it. In this time we all have to open our minds and be aware in order not to fall for tricks like this by scammers," she said.
The popular artiste once again called for the guilty party to quickly erase the account before any stern action is carried out.
"To the owner of this account, please erase it immediately, or we will take stern action. People please don't be fooled because I only have one official account online, which is @ctdk," she said.
Meanwhile, in another Instagram post, Siti shared that there were still many other parties that are claiming to be her by using her image in business dealings.
"It seems that there are many others who are using my picture to conduct other businesses online.
"I really have no problem in supporting others who have businesses. I realise that in today's current situation, many people are facing difficulties. But if this is misused to cheat and it also utilises my picture, then this is certainly not right at all.
"Don't conduct your business by deceiving people. Find the blessing in whatever we do. Please don't fool people and please report any account that misuses my name," she said.
Siti added that she only has official online accounts and channels, like @ctdk (IG), Siti Nurhaliza (her Facebook page), @CTNurhaliza11 (Twitter), @officialsimplysiti and @beausitiofficial (her business accounts).
