#Showbiz: I don't go 'live' when people are asleep, says Siti

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's No.1 singer Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin has once again come out to warn of unscrupulous parties who are using her image and name to scam people online.

"Please don't believe it!" she said in a recent Instagram post cautioning her fans and the public not to be easily duped by videos and images of her linked to offers of rewards.

Siti stressed that these were produced by scammers with bad intentions and personal agendas who were trying to trick unsuspecting members of society.

"It's getting pretty common, these syndicates with their fraudulent agendas. Don't be fooled, they air live videos that are akin to me making live sessions at the time and organise all sorts of competitions promising many so-called rewards.

"They then ask for all of your personal details and con you! Those are scammers!" she said.

The award-winning artiste and entrepreneur added that these irresponsible individuals would carry out these nasty events at ungodly hours.

"They do these live sessions during a time when most people are asleep. So it's not logical at all for me to be streaming live at these times.

"You can check out my Instagram or Facebook accounts, @ctdk (IG) and Siti Nurhaliza (FB page), these are the only official social media accounts I have.

"Even if they wrote live session on my Facebook page, if we were aware of this and thought about it properly then we would certainly not be fooled by it," she said.

Siti also hopes these irresponsible individuals would repent and stop doing these negative activities.

"To those who are using my picture, name and video to pose as me in order to scam the public, I hope that you will repent and stop this immediately.

"Today we might take pleasure in tricking someone, but one day there will be consequences on us for all of our actions.

"To the fans and social media users, please think carefully before believing any of these deceitful acts.

"Help us to spread awareness to more people, don't fall for it!" she said.

Siti also shared several screencaps of these false Facebook accounts that utilised her videos and images.
