#Showbiz: Shoulder your responsibilities, pay up what's due, says Nabila Huda

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Nabila Huda Suhaimi is fed up with some production houses who go silent when it came to pay day.

In a video she uploaded on Instagram, the 36-year-old artiste lamented how some productions still could not take it seriously when it came to settling payments to artistes, even when they had already agreed and signed the contract before work commenced.

Visibly upset, Nabila Huda said: "It's already 2021, and why is this problem still plaguing the industry? What's the point of signing a contract, if they don't even honour it?

"I was recently involved in a production and according to the contract, I would be paid two weeks after filming wrapped up.

"However, until today I have not heard a word from them. It was I who had to send a message reminding them about it," said the daughter of rockstar Amy Search, adding that she did not like to be seen chasing for payments.

Nabila Huda said that she had given her full commitment during filming, and the production should return that favour by being prompt in their payment.

Insufficient funds should not be used as an excuse, she said as payment for the cast and crew in any project should have already been put aside even before work begun.

"Learn from other experienced producers and production companies. If you don't have enough capital, perhaps you should do something else, like online business or open a roadside stall," she added.
