#Showbiz: Siti overwhelmed by anxiety about childbirth as due date approaches

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin has chosen early Ramadan to give birth to her second child.

The 42-year-old popular artiste is hopeful for her labour and delivery to be a smooth one.

"God willing, I am due to deliver my second baby in just a few more days. Please pray for a smooth labour and delivery.

"Even so, I still make sure to complete all the events which I've given my prior undertaking. It is my responsibility to fulfil all my commitments," she said at the launch of a limited edition gold wafer by the Malaysian Islamic Economic Development Foundation (YaPEIM) at the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia, here today.

On preparations to welcome her new bundle of joy, Siti admitted feeling anxious and worried about childbirth.

"I believe many expectant mothers will feel the same way I'm feeling right now as the due date gets closer especially when I'm told not to expect a similar experience as I had giving birth to Aafiyah," said Siti adding that she planned to return to work in July or August.

While that may not be a long period for some, it is a considerable long break for the popular and prolific artiste whom had just celebrated her 25th year in the music scene.

YaPEIM's limited edition gold wafer is also a collaboration with Siti to mark her auspicious silver jubilee anniversary.
