#Showbiz: Ella rocking it with McDonald's in new burger promotion

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular fast food chain McDonald's is now collaborating with a household name in Malaysian entertainment, following an earlier team-up with K-Pop group BTS.

She is Malaysia's beloved rock queen Norzila Aminuddin or Ella, who has been chosen to sing the fast food restaurant's latest commercial jingle and endorse three new, limited edition burgers in its menu.

In a statement today, McDonald's Malaysia said: "Ella will be making a special appearance in Astro Gempak's Rock On virtual concert on Aug 28, and fans will have a chance to win an exclusive virtual lunch with her together with some limited edition merchandise."

The three burgers from McDonald's are Rockin' BBQ, Double Rockin' BBQ and Triple Rockin' BBQ in chicken or beef flavours, served with French fries and a medium-sized beverage.

These will be available for a limited time at all McDonald's restaurants nationwide.

McDonald's application users can also take part in The Rockin' Hunt, a contest where customers need to find hidden "rock" signs in the McDonald's application.

The first 100 participants will be able to redeem a free upgrade to a Double Rockin' BBQ Burger.

Ella said in an Instagram post that she was excited to work with McDonald's in its latest consumer campaign.

"I love the BBQ & Smoky sauce, it simply rocks. Do not forget to try it at the nearest McDonald's outlet!" she said.

In May, BTS teamed up with the fast food restaurant to come up with a meal featuring the 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, a medium serving of fries, a medium Coca-Cola, and sweet chili and cajun dipping sauces.
