#Showbiz: Ella raises RM30k for Gaza at Penang concert

KUALA LUMPUR: Apart from entertaining fans at her recent Ella Puteri Kota Edisi Utara concert held in Bayan Lepas, Penang, Malaysia's own Queen of Rock, Ella managed to raise more than RM30,000 to be channeled towards aiding the Palestinians.

In a press statement released yesterday, the 57-year-old artiste said she was grateful to be killing two birds with one stone during the concert.

The funds raised will be donated to the Cinta Gaza Malaysia fund.

"This is one of the ways we could show support and solidarity for their plight," she said.

The concert, was the third leg after her performances held in Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, in June and August respectively.

The recent concert held at Spice Arena lasted for about three hours, also saw her performing two songs – Kasih and Penawar – while the giant screen showed scenes of war-torn Gaza.

Other songs she sang that evening included Sembilu, Kesal, Nuri, Pedih, Sepi Sekuntum Mawar Merah, Tiada Tangis Lagi, Ala Amerika, Kitalah Bintang, Standing In The Eyes Of The World, Gemilang, Permata Pemotong Permata, and Layar Impian.

The concert, organised by Hitman Solutions with co-operation from RockQueen, was attended by 14,000 concertgoers.

There was also asurprise performance courtesy of Datuk Ahmad Azhar Othman a.k.a. Awie. Other guest performers included Ella's brother Korie and niece Kaka Azraff.
