#Showbiz: 'Boys should know how to cook to survive' - Diana Danielle

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Diana Danielle's 8-year-old son Muhammad Farid, or Che Mad, regularly cooks rice for his parents and younger sister.

The Hanyut and Magika star said that she and her husband, actor Farid Kamil, taught Muhammad how to prepare basic meals such as rice for his loved ones over the last two years.

"At 8, my son is officially in charge of cooking rice, putting dishes into the dish washer, serving food and cooking simple breakfast meals under our supervision," said Diana in a recent tweet.

"Yes, you can teach a boy domestic responsibilities. He needs to eat too, right? So he had better know how to cook to survive, it ain't a gender thing."

Netizens praised Diana and Farid for teaching Muhammad basic survival skills like cooking.

One of them, Liyana, said: "Well said Diana. My mum taught my brothers and I this, too. She said boys and girls should both be capable of doing household work such as cooking."

Razman said: "That's the way forward, Diana and Farid. My parents told their children that everyone does everything, so all of us wash plates and clothes, change tyres and change light bulbs. No gender distinctions."

Fitri said: "Well done, Diana. Soon you have to call him Chef Mad instead of Che Mad. Keep it up Muhammad!"

Diana, 30, and Farid, 40, have been married for nine years. Besides Muhammad, they have a 6-year-old daughter Aurora.
