KUALA LUMPUR: Noor Nabila, who is Neelofa's elder sister, has revealed that she and her husband, Engku Emran Engku Zainal Abidin, will divorce soon.
In a Harian Metro report today, Noor Nabila said that the decision was made after Emran expressed his desire not to continue with the relationship that they had built since 2021.
"We are in the process of going through the divorce which will take place in the near future. Emran has already expressed his desire to divorce after he had left my house since the beginning of January.
"Praise be to God, when he told us his intention for a divorce, we discussed it in a calm and amicable manner and accepted all of the decisions that were made with an open heart.
"Whether we were meant to be together or not is all decided by God, no one wants to get married just to get divorced and I had also dreamed for a happy and long-lasting marriage," she said.
Noor Nabila does not want to disclose any further details on her marital troubles to the public.
Instead, she would rather let the matter only be known between them and for the matter to be a lesson for herself.
"I have done my best throughout this marriage. However, as humans we cannot run away from the trials and tribulations that occur in the household.
"As husband and wife, we are supposed to make sacrifices and always be there for each other in any situation. Unfortunately, we are not able to be that kind of couple.
"The problem between us has been ongoing for quite some time and I leave it to fate to decide. I am confident that this is God's best plan for me and my children," she said.
Previously, Harian Metro had reported that the couple's marriage was already on shaky ground which would eventually lead to a split.
A source close to the couple said that the two who have been married for the past two years were no longer living together and were said to be in the process of getting a divorce.
Nabila and Engku Emran tied the knot on March 19, 2021.
Engku Emran had previously been married to popular actress and singer Erra Fazira and they are blessed with a daughter, Engku Aleesya.
He had also been married to Indonesian actress, Laudya Cynthia Bella but they had no children together.
Meanwhile, Nabila was previously married to Sharnaaz on March 31, 2017 before separating on July 9, 2020.
The two are blessed with a son, Jebat Jayden.
