#Showbiz: TV3's 'Famili Duo' Season 3 first episode records highest viewership

KUALA LUMPUR: The first episode of family-based reality show Famili Duo Season 3 (FD3) which aired live last Sunday recorded a viewership of 3.8 million viewers.

In a statement released by TV3 yesterday, the figure was based on a report by AC Nielsen.

With that figure, TV3 said the programme had recorded the highest viewership compared to other entertainment programmes broadcast by other networks during the same time.

During the first concert, comedian Mohd Syaiful Doli Sharif and his younger brother Sharif Kadir Doli Sharif emerged as the weekly champion of the show, which surprised many viewers.

The statement said the duo's performance had earned praises from panel of judges.

One of the permanent judges, singer Mas Idayu said: "To shift their stage characters from being comedians to singing on a reality show is not an easy feat. But the pair had done their best to excel, ticking all the boxes required to emerge as the winners on that evening."

Another judge, composer Ajai, agreed with her, adding: "Syaiful and Sharif have the rhythm and they knew how to express themselves according to the music arrangement which had the combination of rock, dangdut and comedy elements.

"I hope they will keep up the good work to remain all the way right till the end."

Other pairs competing in the show include Shila and Syakir; Ryan Bakery and Adam Bakery; Fuad Rahman and wife Tom; Haqiem Rusli and Ariff Bahran; and sisters Adira and Emma Suhaimi.

The show is hosted by Izzue Islam and Janna Nick.

FD3 airs on TV3 every Sunday at 9pm. It can also be streamed live via Tonton at www.tonton.com.my or its app which can be downloaded from Google Play or App Store.
