#Showbiz: Fans rally as singer Kaka Azraff faces contract termination fallout after Palestine advocacy

KUALA LUMPUR: The contract termination of singer Kaka Azraff by recording label Warner Music Malaysia has caused various reactions from the public, most of whom disagreed with the label.

In a news report yesterday, it said many of her supporters lauded the 34-year-old artiste, whose full name is Nor Atiqa Noor Azraff, for voicing her opinion regarding the plight of the Palestinians and told her not to be discouraged by the termination.

"Kaka, always remember that opportunities are everywhere, and especially with the complete package (of talent and good looks) you have, you have nothing to worry (about). Keep on voicing your opinions on the Palestine issue.

"May Kaka's good intention be rewarded with abundance and God's blessings," read some netizens' social media comments.

Meanwhile, some of them and fellow artiste Datuk Hattan were also reported to have said perhaps it was time for local music fans to launch a boycott campaign against products from the label.

"I don't care if I was once part of Warner stable too, but let's do this, despite whatever its (Warner's) justification (to terminate Kaka's contract).

"Let's do this as our solidarity for Palestine," he said.

Previously, Kaka had allegedly sent disparaging DMs to pro-Israeli Australian influencer and actor Nathaniel Buzolic.

Her profile was later said to have been shared on a website named Jew Hate Database, which also listed Kaka as anti-Semitic.

On Nov 30, Kaka met with the management representatives from Warner, who issued her the termination letter.
