#Showbiz: Kaka Azraff confident to be an independent singer

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer Kaka Azraff admits that she is now more confident to be on her own as an independent singer, following the termination of her contract with Warner Music Malaysia on Dec 1 last year.

Harian Metro reported this yesterday, quoting the 34-year-old artiste saying that initially, she was not so sure about going independent, but the encouragement from many had changed her perception.

Among those who supported her is of course, her famous aunt – the rock queen Ella.

"Praise be to God, I'm more confident to embark on my musical journey all on my own now.

"I also get a lot of invitation to perform at events more these days too, which shows that the opportunities didn't stop when my contract with the record company ended abruptly.

"Instead, I see a better chance for me to explore further as now every decision lies with me," explained Kaka who added that she was also planning to finally come up with her debut album.

Despite having been in the industry for 12 years, Kaka, whose real name is Nor Atiqa Noor Azraff, said she never had this chance before.

Her contract was terminated after she left a message on the social media account of a pro-Israeli Australian actor Nathaniel Buzolic, which was deemed to be anti-Semitic.
