#Showbiz: Abby Abadi: Who said I told them to divorce?

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer and actress Abby Abadi has questioned allegations and reports that she and ex-husband Norman Hakim had forced their 19-year-old daughter, Marissa Dania Hakim, to divorce Aslam, whom she married in secret in Songkhla, Thailand.

Abby made this known via an Instagram Story entry according to a news report today.

In the lengthy post, she revealed that she had never done anything of that sort and questioned where the statement and various other reports had even come from.

Abby also made it clear that she had never said anything about the controversial issue of the surprise marriage that has gone viral on social media in the past few days.

"If things truly happened as what has been put forth, then God is the best place to confide in, and may God protect my children," she wrote.

It was previously reported that attempts by the media to contact Abby and Norman to comment on the secret marriage were unsuccessful.

Abby's current husband, Muhammad Faizal Zakaria or Jai, had also reportedly declined to comment on the matter when contacted by the media.

Yesterday, the story of Marissa and Aslam getting married in Songkhla on Dec 27 caused quite a stir online.

The couple is said to have married without the knowledge of Aslam's first wife, Misya Mazlan, who was reportedly performing Umrah at the time.

Last September, Misya claimed that her husband had cheated on her with Marissa, who is Abby and Norman's second daughter.

Through social media posts, Misya claimed that Marissa, who is also an influencer, was the main cause of her divorce from her husband.

However, Aslam and Misya had decided to reconcile (rujuk) during the waiting period (idah) of the divorce.
