Woman criticizes ex-husband's running obsession, claims it led to their marriage breakdown

BEIJING: A woman in China has criticised her ex-husband's obsession with running, saying that it had destroyed their marriage.

The woman, named Zhao, even claimed that the man, knwon as Peng, once left their five-year-old daughter locked in the car for hours to participate in a marathon.

Through a series of social media posting, Oddity Central reported that, Zhao, who lives in the Hunan province in Southern China claimed that running has always been her ex-husband's priority.

At first, Zhao encouraged Peng to take care of his health but over time it became an obsession to him.

Peng's hobby caused turmoil in her marriage with Zhao that she was convinced that she was better off alone.

Reminiscing the incident where Peng had left their daughter in the car for hours, Zhao, as quoted by Toutiao News, said Peng had bought their daughter breakfast and gave her a mobile phone for entertainment.

He then proceeded to lock her in the car before running in a marathon.

Peng admitted to leaving his daughter alone in the car so he could run in the marathon.

However, Peng claimed to have only run a short distance before returning to his daughter.

"I just ran 1.5 kilometre then came back to the car and found her sleeping," said Peng.

Peng also told his ex-wife that if she didn't like the way he raised their daughter, Zhao could take her away. — AGENCY
