KUALA LUMPUR: A foreign domestic worker was allegedly behind the abduction of a boy from his celebrity mother last month.
Harian Metro reported that the woman's ex-husband, who is a vocalist of a popular group, had allegedly orchestrated the abduction.
The woman, who was also a singer in the past, lodged a report about the incident at the Ampang police station.
The domestic worker was detained by police on the day of the incident. Initial investigations revealed that the man had been behind the abduction.
The domestic worker had also claimed that she received instructions from the man, and that he had not seen the boy, who is adopted, for a long time.
The man and his ex-wife are expected to bring up the issue of the child's custody to the syariah court.
