KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Maya Karin admits to still being in a relationship with a French man in his early fourties.
The 44-year-old artiste added that although they've been dating for the past two years, they hardly see each other due to their busy schedules.
"The relationship is still ongoing. But sometimes I don't see him for a long period, like three weeks. He is busy and travels a lot in Southeast Asia.
"I'm being realistic. Right now, I'm renovating my home, promoting a film, and also filming.
"I've already told him we won't be seeing each other for six weeks.
"However, he said that maybe he could come to the film set to see me work.
"He likes to see me work," she said in a news report today.
The actress, whose full name is Maya Karin Roelcke, added that she did not expect the relationship to have lasted.
"Actually, my expectation was for it to last for only two or three months before fizzling out. Of course there've been ups and downs.
"In the past, there were many low points. But now we understand each other. So, it's more better now because it's easier," she said.
Maya, who won Best Female Actress at the 30th Malaysia Film Festival (FFM), said that she would leave everything to fate when asked about her plans to start a family.
"I'm open to starting a family again. I used to be very happy to get married and to enjoy great moments with a good person.
"Only, I believe in God's plans. I surrender to it. God-willing, one day I will get married again," she said.
Maya was previously married to Englishman Steven Shorthose or Muhammad Ali Abdullah.
However, their relationship lasted for only two years after they divorced on July 16, 2010.
