#Showbiz: Zaiton Sameon to move into new home in Kepong soon

KUALA LUMPUR: Good news is in store for veteran singer Zaiton Sameon — the government has found her a People's Housing Project (PPR) unit in Kepong.

The 68-year-old Menaruh Harapan singer said that her new home is at the Sri Aman PPR Housing Project in Jinjang, Kepong.

"Thank God I will be moving there soon. My application is still being processed but things are going smoothly and I am full of hope," said Zaiton in a Harian Metro report yesterday.

Zaiton also thanked Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil who visited her at her rented home in Ampang yesterday, and gave her cash and basic necessities for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

"I am deeply touched by his kind gesture. I thank him from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to visit me and provide me with necessities for Raya.

"I also want to thank all government agencies that have helped lighten my burden this Raya month."

Zaiton was badly hurt in a car accident in Batang Kali, Selangor in 1990.

The accident claimed the life of her 13-year-old son Azirwan Abu Bakar.

Zaiton's serious head injuries caused her to lose her memory for a few years.

On Nov 14, 2022, Zaiton received a Handicapped People's Card or OKU Card from the Federal Territories Social Welfare Department.
