Pasir Gudang, Larkin Lama record unhealthy API

JOHOR BARU: The air pollutant index readings in Pasir Gudang and Larkin Lama have plunged the two zones into the unhealthy category.

Pasir Gudang's API was 126 while Larkin Lama was 110 as of 8am.

Kota Tinggi and Muar registered readings of 94 and 57 respectively, which put them in the moderate category.

Singapore recorded an API reading of 152 to 176 as of 8am, but many who are coming out in the streets to vote in the republic, say it felt like the API was in the 200s.

In Johor Baru, many were glad it was a rest day for civil servants and schools.

The view from the Johor-Singapore Causeway is also very hazy. The weather condition is the city is between 23 and 28 degrees.

The air pollution level is categorised as good from zero to 50, moderate (51-100), unhealthy (101 to 200), very

unhealthy (201-300) and hazardous (301 and more).

State Health and Environment Committee chairman Datuk Ayub Rahmat said the number of hotspots in Indonesia has increased to 326 as of today, and with wind directions coming from southeast heading west to Peninsula Malaysia, more haze is expected in Johor.
