KOTA KINABALU: Three men died in two separate fire incidents in Menggatal and Tuaran this morning.
In Menggatal town, a fire broke out at about 1am and burnt down a shoplot of eight doors.
Two bodies of Pakistani aged 20 and 43, believed to be the owner and worker of the shop, were found.
Meanwhile in Kampung Sungai Damit in Tuaran, 97-year-old Pukimin Yokomo died in his double-storey house.
Fire and Rescue department received distress call from the victim's neighbour known as Sarina at about 9.02am.
"I saw the fire started from the victim's room at upper floor, thus I called the rescue department for help.
"At that time, I believe his family members were around but unsure how many of them," she said, adding that the fire had been put out.
