KUALA LUMPUR: Foot massagers and water heater that passed Customs checks at the air cargo terminal were found to contain methamphetamine.
These products, along with bags, were confiscated when they reached courier companies and police found 22kg of methamphetamine worth RM5.5 million hidden in the compartment.
Federal Narcotics Department director Datuk Noor Rashid Ibrahim said the drugs were flown from China and Hong Kong by Nigerian drug syndicates.
"The syndicates have changed their modus operandi by using the air courier service to avoid detection," he told reporters at Federal Police Headquarters today.
Noor Rashid said close rapport between police and courier companies has resulted in the seizure between Monday and Saturday.
