Colourful Indian cultural festival

JOHOR BARU: THE Temple of Fine Arts Johor Baru (TFA) is hosting the Dance India Taste India festival, beginning tomorrow until Sunday at the TFA premises.

Cultural performances such as classical, folk and contemporary dance and music will be performed by volunteers from the Temple of Fine Arts International community.

There will also be fun-filled competitions to mark the occasion.

The games are designed for people of all ages.

A member of the organising committee of the festival, Nagraj Velasan, said those who attended the festival would enjoy an assortment of Indian dishes that can be bought with coupons.

“Any festival would be incomplete without signature cuisine featuring authentic flavours and aromas from India.

“We will also offer local Malaysian delights,” he said adding that the food offered was strictly vegetarian.

Nagraj said another highlight of the festival would be the mini Indian bazaar, selling Indian paraphernalia, jewellery and apparel by Lavanya, which is a sister organisation of TFA.

Nagraj said all proceeds from the sales of coupons will be channelled to the TFA Johor Baru Building Fund.

He said the development of the building was essential as it would better serve TFA students and art lovers who are interested in learning about Indian culture.

Admission is free while all
purchases of food, beverages,
apparel, participation in games and workshops will be by coupons.

Coupons are available for sale at the TFA here and will also be sold during the festival.
