Decomposed body found wrapped in sarong

BUTTERWORTH: A decomposed body of a foreign man wrapped in a sarong was found in the bushes near an estate in Tasek Gelugor here earlier.

In the 5.30pm find, a passer-by spotted a body along Jalan Bukit Tok Alang Jarak, after a putrid odour spread around the vicinity.

A police forensic team on site said initial investigations showed that the man could have died four days ago and was murdered elsewhere.

The team declined to say if there were any wounds on the body.

It was learnt that the deceased appeared to be in his 30s and did not have any BCG vaccine test mark on his body.

When contacted, Penang Criminal Investigation Department chief SAC Mazlan Kesah said the body has been brought to the Kepala Batas Hospital for a post-mortem.
