Malaysian woman behind international drug syndicate arrested in Nilai

KUALA LUMPUR: Police had crippled an international drug syndicate masterminded by Malaysian women with the arrest of four suspects in Nilai, Negri Sembilan, on Tuesday.

Acting Narcotics Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Haris Wong Abdullah said the four suspects were nabbed during a 6.30am raid at a house in Nilai.

“The two-hour raid saw police arresting two women and two men all locals aged between 20 and 30. One of the women in her 30s is the mastermind of the syndicate and she was detained under the Dangerous Drugs (Special Preventive Measures) Act 1985 while three others were detained under Drug Dependants (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983.

“Police also seized RM2.7 million worth of cash, jewelleries, luxury cars and impounded a condo in Mont Kiara,” he said in a statement.

Haris said police had been monitoring the syndicate since 2013.

“Investigation revealed the syndicate obtained their drugs supply, mainly syabu, from multiple Nigerian syndicates around Klang Valley and the drugs will be marketed to the local and Indonesian market,” he said.

Haris said the suspects were detained under the Dangerous Drugs (Special Preventive Measures) Act 1985.

He added the arrest was related to previous arrests since 2013 involving 13 Nigerian, three African, two Thais, an Indian and a Pakistan national with the seizure of 1.5 kilogram of heroin and two guns worth about RM1 million.
