Next-of-kin send memorandum to PM Najib

PUTRAJAYA: Twenty one Chinese relatives of those who perished aboard Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight MH370 sent a memorandum to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, here, this evening.

The group, who arrived at the Putra Perdana Complex yesterday evening, had demanded to meet with Najib over the government's decision to declare the ill-fated flight an accident.

63-year-old Wen Wan Cheng, whose son Wen Yong Sheng was on the flight, said the next-of-kin had not accepted the explanation provided by the Department of Civil Aviation.

He said the group would also remain in Malaysia throughout the Chinese New Year celebration.

"I have lost my son. What is there to celebrate?" he lamented.

Wen was met outside the complex after handing over the memorandum to a representative who accepted it on behalf of Najib.

He said the document submitted was received by Assistant Private Secretary to the Prime Minister, Saiful Azhar Shaharun.
