KUALA LUMPUR: The Welfare Association of Wives of Ministers and Deputy Ministers (Bakti) and YTL Corporation Bhd donated a total of RM95,000 to 19 charity organisations, as part of Bakti's annual Chinese New Year celebration today.
The 19 organisations, which include old folks' homes, orphanages and special needs learning centres from the Klang Valley, received RM5,000 each.
The donations were presented by the prime minister's wife and Bakti president Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor during a celebration lunch held at the JW Marriott Hotel here.
Rosmah also handed out angpows to children who were among the 350 guests present.
The guests were treated to a five-course vegetarian lunch, as well as cultural performances by students from Permata Seni and the SMK Jinjang school orchestra.
Present were the deputy prime minister's wife and Bakti deputy president Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman, and YTL Corporation executive director Datuk Yeoh Soo Min.
