GUA MUSANG: A RM1.3 billion integrated cement manufacturing plant will be built at Felda Chiku 8 here and is expected to be completed in two years, said Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob.
The 100-hectare plant by ASN Cement Sdn Bhd could spur the local and state economy, he told reporters after the ground breaking here today.
Ahmad said the plant would generate 1,000 jobs with priority to be given to locals, create new business opportunities in surrounding areas, and supply enough cement for the Malaysian market.
On another matter, Ahmad urged more researchers to visit the district to study its limestone caves. – BERNAMA
