IPOH: Some 300 people staged a protest outside the state assembly here this morning against Pakatan Rakyat assemblymen who donned all black during yesterday's inauguration ceremony for the opening of the state assembly.
They comprised Umno Youth and several non-governmental organisations.
Holding up banners, condemning the opposition assemblymen for showing disrespect to Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, the crowd continuous chanted "Daulat Tuanku".
Their spokesman Datuk Nadzri Ismail said what the opposition assemblymen did was akin to treason.
"They show total disrespect to the Sultan and the royal institution.
"Their action cannot be forgiven no matter what," he told reporters.
