Parang-wielding man fled with BMW

PETALING JAYA: A parang-wielding man forced a 34-year-old man businessman to handover his car key before he fled with the BMW 320i at Armanee Condominium, here today.

District police chief Assistant Commissioner Azmi Abu Kassim said in the 10.15am incident, the victim identified as Shahrir Mohamad Subri was walking towards his car with his wife and two kids to return to his hometown.

"A suspect in his 20s, who was hiding behind other vehicles at the parking lot emerged with two parang, forcing the victim to handover the car key and his wallet.

"The victim who was terrified of his family's safety immediately handover his valuables.

"Upon receiving the car key, the suspect instructed the victim to start the car's engine, before directing him to teach him on how to operate the machine," said Azmi.

The man then fled the scene with the vehicle, wallet containing RM300 and the victim's personal documents which was placed inside the car.

The suspect used the victim's access card to exit the condominium's compound.

Police are tracking down the suspect who was small framed, wearing a black jacket and pants.

The suspect, he said, had two visible scars at the back of his head.
