No one from Malaysian Football team, coach, officials called for match-fixing probe

JOHOR BARU: None of the members of the Malaysian football team, its coach or officials have been called by the Singapore authorities in relation to the match-fixing probe at the 28th Sea Games.

Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin in confirming this said he have yet to receive any report regarding any of the Malaysian football team members being called to help in the probe following the arrest arrests of several people including an alleged match fixer by Singapore's Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau.

"I was made to understand that the Malaysian team is in the same group as one of the teams which has been called into the probe. However at this moment none of our team's players, coaches or officials has been called by the Singapore authorities," he said after launching the Fit Malaysia healthy lifestyle campaign at Dataran Bandaraya today.

Malaysia will face Timor Leste in the opening match of Group B at Bishan Stadium tonight.
