Climbers who took indecent photographs on Mt. Kinabalu identified

KOTA KINABALU: Five foreigners who stripped near the summit at Mount Kinabalu in Kundasang have been identified.

They were among 10 foreigners sought by the authorities in their probe into claims of indecent exposure on the summit trail by a group of exhibitionists on May 30.

Photographs of the naked Caucasians including several women have spread on social media network such as Facebook and Whatsapp.

Sabah Parks director Dr Jamili Nais said the five identified were two Canadians, two from Netherlands and a German.

"They were among 27 climbers in a group," he said adding a police report has been lodged and that the names of all the climbers have been submitted.

Jamili said posing naked at sacred or iconic sites have been trending in other parts of the world and this has happened in places such as the Angkor Wat in Cambodia and Machu Picchu in Peru.
