IPOH: A 50-year-old man died when his superbike collided with a car at Km6 Jalan Simpang Pulai-Cameron Highlands near Kampung Pergom here today.
In the 11am incident, the victim, identified as Nor Hazman Kassim, a businessman, died at the scene.
The impact of the crash caused the machine, a Suzuki GSX-R1000, to burst into flames.
District traffic chief Deputy Superintendent Wan Sharuddin Wan Omar said initial investigations showed the victim had lost control of his machine at the corner and crashed with an oncoming Proton Persona.
"The impact of the crash caused the victim to get thrown to the opposite side of the road," he said.
The victim's remains had been sent to Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun mortuary
