City Hall need to conduct post-mortem to see if KL city GP can continue

KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur City Hall need to conduct a post-mortem quickly to start discussions on whether the KL City Grand Prix can be hosted next year said Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin.

Khairy said a decision to continue hosting the KL City Grand Prix would depend on city hall, who are the local authorities in charge of the roads in the city.

“To host the race, a number of major roads in Kuala Lumpur need to be closed temporarily and therefore, city hall’s consultation and approval are needed.

“The Ministry approved the race that was hosted in the country for the first time since the cost, safety and responsibilities were handled by an experienced organiser ... and with city hall’s approval,” he told reporters at the Ministry’s Aidilfitri celebration at Stadium Putra, Bukit Jalil today.
