KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s number one singing sensation Datuk Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin will be back to serenade fans at Istana Budaya (IB) on Nov 7 and 8.
The upcoming concert will be a sequel to her hugely successful Konsert Satu Suara in 2010, which saw the songbird entertaining fans with two outstanding guest artistes – One In A Million’s Faizal Tahir and Akademi Fantasia’s Aizat Amdan.
For Konsert Satu Suara Vol. 2, regional music legends Datuk Ramli Sarip of Singapore and Hetty Koes Endang of Indonesia will share the stage with Siti to entertain fans with mesmerising musical performances.
“I’ve always admired Hetty. In fact I grew up appreciating her music and I still fall under the spell of her angelic and soulful voice,” said Siti during a launch for the concert at IB yesterday.
The 36-year-old singer added: “Getting her to join me on stage for the first time is a dream come true and I’m so looking forward to our big day.”
As for Ramli, Siti explained that she had always looked up to him as the “Papa Rock” of Malaysia and Singapore.
“He is our finest rocker and his music is full of love, passion and soul. It’s always an honour to collaborate with him as we are both perfectionists who love great music from the heart,” she said.
Konsert Satu Suara Vol. 2 will be divided into two parts – an opening segment where Siti, Ramli and Hetty perform their respective songs, followed by a segment where the trio sings duets and ends the concert singing as a group.
Fans can expect the two hour concert to feature close to 20 songs, comprising of new and evergreen hit tunes.
Siti added: “We’ll be accompanied by some of the country’s outstanding musicians, headed by composer Aubrey Suwito.”
IB director-general Datuk Juhari Shaarani, who was also present, said the concert was co-organised by Siti Nurhaliza Productions and IB.
He added: “Siti, Ramli and Hetty are legends in their own right with distinctive voices and versatility that set them apart from other artistes across Southeast Asia. This winning pairing will bring together music lovers of all ages from Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia to our theatre. We are confident that the superb showmanship of the trio will truly make Konsert Satu Suara Vol. 2 a show to remember.”
The concert will be the first time the three renowned artistes are collaborating together.
Siti explained that she has met Ramli a few times before. Both of them have served as principals for the popular reality TV singing competition Akademi Fantasia, with Ramli appearing on the 4th season in 2006, while Siti was renamed “inspirer” for the 10th season in 2013.
“As for Hetty, she sang at my wedding in 2006 and I’ve attended some of her International Secretaries’ Week performances in KL. She really is the First Lady of Song in her country with much style and substance as well,” she said.
