KUALA LUMPUR: Singing sensation Datuk Sheila Majid has a new song out, titled Sinaran Cinta. The petite 50-year-old vocal powerhouse will be performing it for the very first time at the Akademi Fantasia Final Concert this Sunday (Oct 11).
Sinaran Cinta is part of a new soundtrack album from the upcoming dance musical film, Sinaran: The Movie.
The album, Sinaran: Music from the motion picture (Universal Music Malaysia), also features classics such as Sinaran, Di Dalam Emosi Ini, Warna, Fikirkan Dahulu, Cinta Jangan Kau Pergi, Antara Anyer Dan Jakarta and bonus track, Tua Sebelum Waktu, which were rearranged and performed as part of the film directed by Osman Ali.
Aside from the film's theme song, Sinaran Cinta, Sheila sings on another brand new tune, Tanpamu. The two new tracks were composed by Kevin Chin and Shahrom Rashid.
Sheila will also make a special appearance in Sinaran: The Movie, her first in 30 years after she was last seen onscreen in the 1985 film, Ali Setan.
The new film stars Lisa Surihani with Indonesian actor Evan Sanders in a story that follows 5 college-going youths in their colourful journey of life, love, friendship, ambition and betrayal.
Sinaran: The Movie opens in cinemas on November 26 across Malaysia, Brunei and Singapore simultaneously.
