TENOM: A total of 468 people were relocated to four relief centres after floods hit low-lying villages here due to continuous rain since last night.
The affected villages were Kampung Ponontomon (152 people), Kampung Labut 1 (105 people), Kampung Labut 2 (193 people), and Kampung Lalandang (20 people).
According to a statement issued by the District Flood Disaster Management Committee Secretariat, the flood victims comprised 53 families from Penontomon, 34 families from Labut 1, 51 families from Labut 2, and four families from Lalandang.
"All affected villagers have been placed in relief centres at their respective villages.
"More people are expected to be relocated if water level continues to rise."
