Sungai Golok breaches dangerous levels

KOTA BARU: The water levels at Sungai Golok in Rantau Panjang continued to rise today following heavy rain in the state since yesterday.

According to the state government's portal, the river was measured at 9.45m as of 9.30am, 0.45m above its danger mark of 9m.

Others flood assessment points in Kelantan, however, still recorded below alert level.

No one was evacuated so far although several villages in Rantau Panjang were hit by flood since yesterday after Sungai Golok overflow its bank.

All relevant authorities such as the police, the welfare and also the fire and rescue department were on stand-by in case the situation turned to worse.
