BINTULU: A total of 132 flood victims from 30 families have been evacuated to Bintulu Community Hall relief centre here as of 5am today after their homes were inundated by flood water.
A Civil Defence Department (JPAM) spokesman said the affected areas were Sungai Sebatang , Jalan Tanjung Kidurong and Batu 5 Sibiew, where flood waters are between two to three meters deep.
He said the heavy downpour began about 10pm yesterday and several low-lying areas were flooded.
Apart from that, seven other areas, included Kidurong, Taman Beverly Hill, Kampung Assyakirin, Kampung Kamunting dan Sungai Plan were affected as well.
