High-level committee to aid young entrepreneurs in the works, says Zahid

KUALA LUMPUR: A high-level committee (HLC) to address challenges faced by young entrepreneurs could be established soon.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said he would propose the matter to the government and volunteer to head the committee.

"The committee, if set up, will have ministers and secretaries-general, to discuss issues faced by our entrepreneurs," Zahid said in his speech at the launch 'Jelajah Usahawan Muda oleh Pakar Berjaya' (JUMP) seminar at Putra World Trade Centre today.

Zahid also warned politicians against taking advantage of their positions for personal gain.

"Some people join politics hoping to get business opportunities without any capital. There should be a demarcation (border) of politics and business.

"We should give a chance to youths to be involved in entrepreneurship instead. I am saying this not as a deputy prime minister but as a former businessman," he said.
