BERA: A man, believed to be armed with a toy rifle, robbed a hardware shop in Bandar 32 Bera, Felda Sebertak here yesterday.
Bera district police chief DSP Mohd Rosdi Daud said the robbery occurred at about 2.30pm during Friday prayer.
“The suspect arrived on a motorcycle and rushed into the shop. Two female clerks were in the shop then.
“The suspect, who was wearing a crash helmet, threatened the clerks with the rifle and then fled the scene after taking RM1,000 and a handphone belonging to one of the victims,” he said when contacted here today.
He said police had mounted a search for the suspect, believed to have fled towards Felda Purun. --Bernama
