Tapah murder suspects freed, monitored with tracking device

IPOH: The two suspects held in connection with the murder of four persons at a workshop in Tapah has been released from their remand order after it expired today.

The father and son, who were remanded under the Prevention of Crime Act (POCA) 1959, were however ordered to be monitored with a tracking device placed on their right ankle.

The order was given by Sessions judge Murtazadi Amran following application by Deputy Public Prosecutor Harris Ong Mohd Jeffery Ong.

The tracking device will be placed on their ankle for 59 days from today till Apr 3.

The father and son were earlier held together with the main suspect's 54-year-old wife and 17-year-old disabled son in Oct 26.

However the woman and her son were later released.

The family were held over the murder of four persons missing since 2012.
