Fight in Solaris nightclub leads to murder

KUALA LUMPUR: A fight in a night club escalated into murder when a man was killed by several other individuals last night.

The event began when the 31-year-old victim had gotten into a fight with other customers at a night club in Publika Solaris near here.

Sentul deputy police chief Superintendent Mohd Sukri Kaman said other customers managed to break up the brawl and the victim had exited the club.

"However, one man forced the victim into a car to settle matters. The car was driven by someone else," said Sukri.

The victim's brother-in-law, who claimed he knew the suspects, said the victim was taken to an unknown place.

The brother-in-law then contacted the man to ask on the victim's whereabout.

"The suspect then instructed the brother-in-law to pick up the victim in front of a restaurant at Jalan Tun Sambanthan in Brickfields.

"Upon reaching at the location, the suspect had assisted in placing the unconsciousvictim in the brother-in-law's car.

"The brother-in-law rushed the victim to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital but he was pronounced dead upon arrival," he said, adding that a post-mortem would be conducted to ascertain the cause of death.

Sukri said police are investigating the motive behind the incident.

The case is being investigated for murder.
