SETIU: Two 17-year-old students were detained for ramming a 55-year-old policeman on duty yesterday.
District police chief Deputy Superintendent Elias Abu Bakar said both were being held at the district police headquarters for further investigation.
He said the duo, from Kampung Rahmat in Chalok, were on a motorcycle near Permaisuri town when the victim ordered them to stop for an inspection in connection with the ongoing Op Selamat.
However, the duo refused to stop and instead rammed into the policeman.
“The victim sustained injuries to the palm of one of his hands, shoulder and both arms. He received outpatient treatment at Setiu Hospital,” said Elias.
The duo were arrested not far from the scene by traffic policemen.
