BANDAR SERI JEMPOL: A 21-year old man was killed after his motorcycle collided with a car at Jalan Besar Palong near Felda Palong Lapan here last night.
In the 8.50pm incident, it was learnt that a car, which was coming from the opposite direction rammed into the motorcycle ridden by the victim, Mohd Firdaus Othman.
The impact threw Mohd Firdaus about seven metres away. He suffered head and bodily injuries and severed his right hand.
Five minutes after the accident, a motorcyclist who stopped to help Mohd Firdaus was also injured after another car hit him.
The motorcyclist, Mohd Aidil Abd Karim, 20, however suffered minor injuries and was sent to the Jempol Hospital for treatment.
Jempol district police chief Superintendent Noorzainy Mohd Noor said Mohd Firdaus was heading to his house at Felda Palong Lapan when the accident occurred.
“His motorcycle collided with another car coming from Muadzam Shah. The driver was trying to overtake two cars before it hit Mohd Firdaus. The driver suffered minor injuries," he said.
Noorzainy added, Mohd Firdaus body was sent to Hospital Jempol for post-mortem.
He said, the case was being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act.
