DUNGUN: The body of a 17-year-old student who went missing while swimming at Sura Hujung beach here, was found at 3pm today.
State Fire and Rescue Department public relations officer Rozizah Abnihajar said the body of the victim, Mohd Firdaus Sulong was found 100 metres away from the spot where he was last seen.
Rozizah said Mohd Fauzi was swimming with two other friends when he disappeared under the waves.
She added that the Dungun fire station received a distress call at 1.34pm. Following that, a fire engine with five firemen were deployed to the scene.
Rozizah said a team of scuba divers from the Kemaman fire station also arrived to assist search operations.
"Mohd Firdaus's body was found on the beach about 100 metres away from the spot he was last seen," she said.
