BN will remain strong when all component and breakaway parties unite: Adenan

PAKAN: Sarawak Barisan Nasional will remain strong with the support of all component and breakaway parties within the rulling coalition.

Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem, who is also Sarawak BN chairman, said the ruling coalition could also strike down the opposition camp if the parties unite and cooperate for the welfare of the people during the upcoming state polls.

“Nobody can beat us if Teras (Parti Tenaga Sarawak) and SPDP (Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party) remained united in BN. Not even DAP or PKR. They (the opposition) can even lose their deposit during the state election.

“That is why I want you leave it to me to pick our election candidates.

“And you must promise that regardless of who they are, you must support them as long as they represent the “scale” (the symbol of BN),” said Adenan in his speech during a gathering with more than 5,000 people in Laman Pakan here today.

Present was State Social Development Minister Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom, who is also the Pakan state assemblyman.

Mawan won the seat when he was the SPDP president in the last state election. However, he left the party to form Teras to end the party’s internal crisis.

On the candidates for Pakan state seat, Adenan said he would only announced it after before the nomination day of the election.
